Giving tuesday: The Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway Needs Your Help!

The Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway All American Road is one of the biggest economic drivers in the region, attracting visitors from all over America to the small towns and rural communities along the route. It has the highest official designation for a Byway, indicating that the attractions along the route are unlike anywhere else in the county.

In fact, true to its name, there are 24 volcanic features along the route, which spans between Crater Lake National Park and Lassen Volcanic National Park, both unique environments formed by volcanoes along the Pacific Ring of Fire.

Scenic Byways across America were originally a program of the Federal Highway Administration developed to deliver economic development to rural areas. Unfortunately, for all Byways, including the Volcanic Legacy, federal funding has now been cut completely and the Byway is on its own. Plans to become independently financially sustainable are in the works, but not far along enough to cover the gap.

We appreciate any and all support you can deliver on Giving Tuesday. We want to make sure the Byway can continue delivering economic impact all along the route.
